Connected Haus

Why us

Why automate.
And why us.

What it changes in the house, what it gives back, and why the people who fit it matter as much as the hardware.

By the numbers

Why automate? The numbers make the case.

Where a home's energy goes, what automation adds to the house, and how break-ins happen. The source is under each figure.

  • Up to 30%

less energy used, with the lighting, climate and blinds on our network running to schedules and sensors instead of being left on.

  • Up to 50%

of the energy an Australian home uses goes on heating and cooling, depending on the climate. Running it only for the rooms in use is where automation earns its keep.

  • 5 to 10%

more energy for every extra degree of heating or cooling. A schedule holds the temperature you chose, not the one somebody left it on.

  • Up to 40%

of a home's heating energy can be lost through its windows. Blinds and curtains that close at dusk on their own mean nobody has to remember.

  • 3 to 5%

added to a property's value by smart home upgrades. Buyers notice a house that runs itself at inspection.

burglars in a Western Australian study said they usually got in through an unlocked door or window. Checking and locking the door from your phone closes that gap.

The return

It does not just make the house nicer to live in. It pays you back.

It lowers what you spend running the house and it is a real point of difference at resale, without a renovation to get it.

  1. Lower running costs

Climate and lighting that only run when a room is in use. Every degree of unnecessary heating or cooling costs around five to ten per cent more energy.

  2. A point of difference at resale

Automation has quietly become one of the things buyers look for, and almost no house on the market has it.

  3. Control from anywhere

The garage, the locks, the lights and the air conditioning, from two hours down the highway.

  4. Expandable one room at a time

Start with what annoys you most. Add the rest when you are ready, on the same system.

Living with it

The first week it is a novelty. By the second it is just how the house works.

The blinds go up when you get up. The lights come on before you get home and go off when the house is empty. The garage tells you it is still open. The air conditioning stops running in a house nobody is in.

And when you are away you can see it, check it and control it from wherever you are. Which matters most about two hours down the highway, when you cannot remember whether you locked the front door.

Short-stay and holiday rentals. Codes instead of key handovers, a new code for every guest, and everything shutting down between stays. The property runs itself between bookings.

Why Connected Haus

The part people worry about is not the price. It is the house.
